Little Women 2.0

I remember watching the 1990s version and loving it a couple of years ago. I remember laughing, crying and experiencing a wide variety of emotions. Never thought they’d remake this one as it was actually really good the first time around and it was just 20 years ago. But they did so we gotta check it out.

There’s smth weird about Greta Gerwig. I appreciate her drive and determination to become THEE female director of our time as she’s really pulling cool projects and getting awards and great reviews by also casting top talent. But somehow there’s smth in her movies that sets me off. They are greatly executed: lights, editing, cinematography, dialogues. But smth is missing.

I didn’t like Lady Bird either. Though I really wanted to.

Little Women 2.0 is good. It’s fun enough, cool enough, bright enough. But it’s not phenomenal. It’s not great. It lacks subtle human elements.

Worth a shot but not a gem. Unfortunately.

I have huge respect for Greta though. She’s an inspiration in a lot of ways.
