AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Movies this year are 🔥 legit
Jesus. I mean I don’t remember the last time I rewinded and rewatched specific parts of a movie so many times. And I’m gonna rewatch the whole thing again this week. That’s how good it was. So glad I saw it on Netflix and not the cinema so I could enjoy some scenes multiple times ☺️
Netflix hit this time..hard..and on point 🤜🤛. They started with awesome TV and shitty movies and now they are at awesome TV and even more awesome movies. Netflix is a major Oscar contender this year and all things aside I love that the tech industry is winning over the old, Hollywood studios. Their time is up!
A lot of people know that I’m fascinated by marriage… and its fucked-upness. It’s my favorite kind of relationship. And I love it when movies explore it. It’s the worst kind of deal anyone can get in statistically. Legally and emotionally it’s a bad hand, it’s usually destined for failure and pain. But people still wanna do it 🤷🏻♀️
I don’t like Adam Driver. Like personally, I dislike the dude. But man he can act! And Scarlett Johansson too. I’m mostly ok with her but maaaan she can act too 🔥🔥 I mean I knew that about them, they are great performers and despite my personal okayness with them I have to admit they are phenomenal. It’s different with Laura Dern. Her I love ❤️ She’s fantastic everywhere. And she had some of the best moments here too. The bit about Mary Mother of Jesus was hysterical 😁
I usually don’t like to write long about good movies except for saying “Just go see it!” but I’m gonna make an exception here. There was not a single thing wrong with it. Absolute gem.
It’s really a love story about divorce. This is how it happens. The calmness, the hatred, the routine. It shows the technicality of going through smth like that with someone you love(d). It’s painful and you can sense the pain from the screen. 💔 People don’t fight if they are not close and they don’t divorce if they don’t marry. Marriage is a risky gamble with a 99% probability of failure because it just isn’t natural IMHO and people who are willingly getting into that are extremely strong-willed. This movie explores all parts of a real-life divorce without glamour.
Loved it ❤️
** I usually cry during such movies and I was sure I’ll cry here too but somehow I dodged that bullet. Would’ve made it better tho 🧐
P.S. Here’s my list of 12 best movies about marriage: rough, damaged, harsh, delicate, sensitive, subtle, manipulative, destructive, toxic, intense, extremely conditional and essentially a very hard work 👉 IMDB: Marriage Epitome
