Mary Queen of Scots

Wasn’t as good as one might have hoped. Wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be.

the good

Acting was decent. There’s a huge talent in the leading ladies. They don’t show it to the fullest here tho but you get the idea.

Sound editing was phenomenal! Not songs, there were no songs but music and sounds elevated the intensity.

Also there’s a special joy watching two women stand by themselves, try not to give in to the “feud” thing forged by men and prove their value without marriage.

There’s a scene that happened between them (which most probably didn’t happen in real life but who cares?) that transcends this feel.

the bad

No story. The movie is based merely on dialogues but you have to be at least Aaron Sorkin to pull that shit off. There were no decent fight scenes or decision making scenes or scenes that actually prove who these women are. It revolves only around their supposed rivalry and how they manoeuvre around it. Lame.

Not rewatchable.
