The Babysitter 2 or the art of making sequels

There’s smth really special about The Babysitter and The Babysitter 2. I cried during the end of the first film and laughed my ass off during the middle. It had all range of emotions packed into it and execution was top-notch.

The sequel was on-par, trust me. It’s not a secret that I’m a huge fan of the trash genre, when a movie doesn’t take itself too seriously and just wants you to have fun. This is what it was. And when you look at it through that exact lense, it becomes the second movie of the year imho, coming just below The Gentlemen.

a million followers is cool, you know what’s cooler? a billion followers

There’s so many cool references to movies like Terminator 2 (which is considered the best sequel of all time), The Social Network (as the above quote suggests), the zombie genre and etc.

But the coolest part is the sweet mixture of laughing out loud moments and heartwarming moments. It has an abundance of both. I laughed 🤣 and cried 🥺😭. The amount of blood and gore and torn out guts is followed by super sweet convos and cute exchanges. This is what happens when you write a good script. My only issue is probably with Samara Weaving’s character whom I really missed this time. She was the gem of the first movie.

If you don’t mind some pretty graphic bloodshed moments, and want to have honest fun, tune in to Netflix😉

P.S. I have a sublte crush on Judah Lewis 🥺😍🥺
